RAVENNA won the first place in the rankings on livability in the Italian provinces. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The City of Mosaics<\/strong> was for years in the lead group but had never reached the top of the list. The research of the financial magazine “Il Sole 24 Ore”, which annually compares the performance of the Italian provinces through a comprehensive set of parameters divided into six chapters investigation, today celebrates the 25th edition.<\/p>\n

Rome<\/strong>, which took 20th place in 2013, rose to 12 in 2014, and Milan<\/strong>, which was in 10th place last year, rose to eighth this year.<\/p>\n

The model of Emilia-Romagna<\/strong> region proves to work well, as three more provinces accompany Ravenna among the top ten (Modena, Reggio Emilia and Bologna).<\/p>\n

Ravenna<\/strong>, which was seat of the Roman Empire in the 5th century and of Byzantine Italy until the 8th century, is famous for its well-preserved and intricate mosaics.<\/p>\n

Eight of Ravenna’s early Christian monuments are classified as UNESCO World Heritage<\/strong> sites, and the city is also famous for being the place were poet Dante lived after he was exiled from Florence in 1318.<\/p>\n
