Luciana Notturni<\/strong>, founder of Mosaic Art School, taught restoration for more than 30 years.<\/p>\n

After a long preparation, Luciana finally organized this intensive course, where in 5 days participants learn restoration techniques for the conservation and stabilization of contemporary mosaics.<\/p>\n

This is a unique course, perhaps the first one ever offered in the world, considering also the experience of the teacher.<\/p>\n

The workshop is intended exclusively for the recovery\/repair of CONTEMPORARY MOSAICS, as the conservation of ancient artworks is reserved exclusively for qualified and experienced personnel.<\/p>\n

The preservation of a contemporary work does not depend on age, but on other factors such as materials, technique used, and the exposure condition and its use (artifacts, paintings, flooring, sculptures, street furniture , architecture, etc).<\/p>\n

Description of the most important techniques used over the last 200 year. Extensive overview of materials. Direct and Indirect methods.

Analysis, how to arrange an intervention project, techniques, work phases.\u00a0Mechanical, physical, and chemical cleaning. Use of tools, and chemical solutions. Chemical compresses.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n
WEDNESDAY<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Methods for fixing and integrate the gaps: custom tiles, dummy tiles, filling materials. Hands on practice.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n
